Sleigh Rides at Dan Patch Stables…

Do you love the Hallmark movies, where someone is always enjoying a sleigh ride? Well, here’s your chance to experience a horse-drawn sleigh ride in your own community. The Dan Patch Stables are offering sleigh rides through the beautiful grounds of the Grand Geneva Resort 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Sleigh Rides are snow condition and weather permitting (they prefer that there be 6-8 inches of snow on the ground), so we suggest you call ahead. Reservations are required, and the stables suggest you book ahead, as their schedule fills quickly particularly on the weekends. The sleigh will comfortably hold 4 adults or a family. Cost is $60.


The Dan Patch Stables are located at 7020 Grand Geneva Way on the grounds of the Grand Geneva Resort.

Gooseberries Annual Holiday Show…

Gooseberries Fresh Food Market in Burlington will be hosting their Annual Holiday Show from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday December 15th. The store says it is their “most fun event” of the year, so you can be sure there will be lots of food items and free samples

This year’s sample offerings will include Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Salmon, Pear, Bacon & Brussel Sprouts Salad, Honey & Goat Cheese stuffed Sweet Potatoes, Christmas Guacamole, Cranberry White Chocolate Bread, Ham and Pickle Dip and Glazed Pecans, just to name a few.

Gather family, friends or co-workers for this Family Friendly event and go check it out! Tons of samples and lots of fun, plus the ideas for food prep going into the holidays will be invaluable.

Santa, Elves and Reindeer…

Don’t miss an opportunity to take the kids to see Santa in downtown Lake Geneva, complete with elves and live reindeer. Santa and his helpers (both 2 legged and 4) will be at 252 Center Street this Saturday, December 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters…

Put on that ugly Christmas sweater that you only get to wear a few times each Holiday Season and head to the Sprecher Pub in Lake Geneva either this Saturday, December 15th or next Saturday, December 22nd. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater, dine between 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. and receive a $5.00 gift certificate.

Christmas in the Country…

“Christmas in the Country” brings over two million lights to life on the 1,300 acres of grounds that make up the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa.

The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa grounds will be lit for your viewing pleasure through December 31st, so you have plenty of time during the holidays to drive through the resort with your family. You can see the 12 days of Christmas, Santa on the putting green and much more. This is a wonderful, family friendly way to start off the holidays. Plan to make it a family tradition.

The indoor displays are all new again this year, so leave enough time to park and go inside for a leisurely stroll through the resort and a cup of hot chocolate near the fireplace. Don’t miss your opportunity to view all the Gingerbread Houses created by area residents, amateur and professional, young and old. They are located just down the hall from the Evergreen ballroom on the second floor.

Lakeland School in Elkhorn will be hosting breakfast with Santa this Saturday, December 8th from 7:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Enjoy a Belgian waffle and sausage breakfast, visit with Santa and listen to the Lakeland School Choir perform at 9:15 a.m. and again at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $7.00 and children under 4 are free. Lakeland School is located at W3905 County Rd. NN in Elkhorn.

Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan will be hosting breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 22nd. The kids will be able to choose their own breakfast items from a children’s height buffet full of all their favorites. Enjoy juices, fruit, mini pancakes, French toast, donut holes, eggs, bacon, sausage and more. The kids will have the opportunity to participate in holiday themed crafts, sit on Santa’s lap and have their picture taken at the life-size gingerbread house in the courtyard. Tickets are $17.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and under are free. There are several seatings that morning and reservations are required.

Lunch with Santa…

The Williams Bay Fire Department is hosting Lunch with Santa this Saturday, December 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Enjoy a visit and photo op with Santa, plus a free hot dog lunch that includes hot dogs, chips, cookies and hot chocolate.

Santa arrives by firetruck around 11:30 a.m., so gather the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews along with their wish lists and head to Williams Bay on Saturday for a fun filled, family friendly event courtesy of the Williams Bay Fire Department.

The Christmas Barn…

With just over 20 days left until Christmas, the Christmas Barn in Elkhorn is a great place to shop, shop, shop for everything “holidays”. This festively decorated location is the perfect place to put you in the right frame of mind to start thinking about the holidays.

The Santa Cruise…

Here is your chance to see some of the most beautiful lighting displays in the area from a particularly unique point of view, when you board the Santa Cruise for a ride on Geneva Lake to view lakefront estates all decked out for the holidays.

Join Gage Marine this holiday season for a Santa Cruise Boat Tour on Geneva Lake. Cruises depart the Gage Marine dock in Williams Bay hourly beginning at 4:30 p.m. everyday through the end of the year with a few exceptions. They also offer an Adult Only Cruise on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m., some with live music.

Before you board your boat, you will have the opportunity to walk through the Charities of Christmas Tree Festival. As you travel around the lake, the lights on each estate are said to tell a magical story of a journey to Santa’s North Pole Hideaway. The cruise provides activities for the kids, along with a snack bar and beverages for kids as well as adults. So, start a new tradition this year and make a reservation to take a December Cruise on Geneva Lake. Plan to arrive early or stay late and enjoy a holiday cocktail and/or meal at Pier 290.
